Reach, Inc. Performing at Three Times the National Average

One of the main goals of Reach, Inc. is to assist people with disabilities to gain and maintain employment. Currently 80% of the 74 people served in reach's Work Services Program have jobs in the community. This is over three times the national average of 23%. This success is due in part to the dedication of reach's staff, and it is also a sign that the Bozeman business community recognizes the value of hiring people with disabilities.

Greg Franklin Returns to Reach Board

The Reach Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Greg Franklin has been elected to serve on the Board. Greg is a former Reach Board Member and a long time supporter of the Reach program. Reach is honored that he has volunteered to once again serve on the Board of Directors.

Building Project Update: $500,000 grant has been approved.

I am writing to update all of you that have so generously given and/or pledged to Reach’s Capital Campaign. As you know Reach is striving to raise capital to build a new Work Center for the people with disabilities we serve and to be able to expand our service to more people in need.

The project has an estimated cost of $1,785,585. Reach hopes to finance the project in a number of ways including selling our current facility, raising funds through the Capital Campaign, Grant writing, and conventional financing.

I am pleased to announce that Reach was just informed by the Montana Department of Commerce that the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds ($500,000) we applied for have been approved. This almost completes the total funding needed for the new Work Center.

As you know our original goal for the Capital Campaign was $200,000. Due to early success at attaining this goal the Reach Board of Directors decided to increase the goal to $275,000. I am happy to report that as of October 27, 2004 we had donations and pledges of $262,000. Any assistance you can give in raising the remaining $13,000 needed to reach the goal will be appreciated.

Due to restrictions on the CDBG funds we cannot access those funds until April 2005. However, we will begin doing some preliminary activity between now and then including reviewing all suggestions for changes on floor plans, looking at potential architects, and accumulating furniture for the building.
